The student was probably harassed (I refuse to call it a beat-down; read the linked article) because they knew that she was stupid enough to pay $70 for a t-shirt that I could make with $1.50 iron-ons.

Uh, yeah. Sweeping generalizations of an entire profession. Great. Now explain to me why Joe Snuffy in some Big 3 auto plant with his GED is getting paid two, three, or even four times what a public school teacher gets paid. Oh, right - teachers suck.
As a vet, I know damned well and good that a soldier does not wear his uniform if he's going to be doing anything even vaguely political (aside from voting). As a soldier in uniform, you don't try to make policy, you carry it out. Out of uniform, blog all you want or write newspaper articles, or talk on TV. Just don't drag your Service into the mix. It was a silly thing to do.
It's a silly thing to blame the "libloons" (my eyes nearly pulled out of their orbits they rolled so hard) because the guy was clearly in the wrong.
